Timbertown is one of the few places in Australia where you can ride on and experience a genuine steam train which departs on the hour 11:00am - 3:00pm (please note times vary depending on season) from the Timbertown Railway Station. The Timbertown Heritage Railway is typical of the kind used in the forestry industry of bygone days to transport timber and people from the outer lying forests and communities to the Sawmills and towns. Except our steam train is a lot more fun!
The Timbertown Heritage Railway runs on a 595mm railway track which traverses for 2.4kms around the perimeter of our 87 acre park. During your steam train journey you will cross the longest 595mm gauge trestle bridge in the southern hemisphere and pass-by re-created scenes from the past as well as the Timbertown lake. Enjoy the atmosphere of the park while aboard the steam engine, the sound of the steam whistle and the beautiful surrounds all from open carriages. All Aboard!
